ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER

In Aragonda, Total Health established 9 potable drinking water plants (initially RO and currently Rapid Sand Filtration plants) in conjunction with the Gram Panchayats, to service individual households. While Total Health ensures regular maintenance of the equipment, the units are managed by the community as a business. In Amrabad, water scarcity is tackled by helping forest dwellers conserve water through various measures. Water purification tablets are also distributed within the pentas.

SANITATION & HYGIENE EDUCATION

We place a strong emphasis on promoting sanitation and hygiene education in schools and public areas.

Our  ‘Arogya Rakshak’ teams use innovative approaches such as ‘Chakka Bhajana’ song and ‘Hygiene Parliament’ sessions to promote handwashing and menstruation hygiene. Additionally, we distribute hygiene buddy kits to support children  in their personal hygiene routines.

In Amrabad, we have built makeshift shower rooms using straw and bamboo, offering adults the daily convenience of private baths in close proximity.

Total Health also conducts hygiene and menstruation camps for the Chenchu tribe, addressing pain and excessive bleeding, distributing reusable pads, and promoting eco-friendly alternatives.
